Fair Trade Long Beach Reaches Out to Wisconsin
There was also a great meeting today with the Fair Trade-Just Coffee Cooperative - visiting from Madison, Wisconsin on a Southern California Fair Trade and Cooperative tour held at Romeo Chocolates.
August Fair Trade Social
A Fair Trade social hour was held at Saint and Seconds in Long Beach on 20 August 2018. Representatives from Fair Trade Long Beach, FAIR Spirits (of Fair Trade vodka fame), and other Southern California representatives attended. We also had a number of friends and family members join us in the festivities.
Look for us at Revamped First Fridays!
We'll be having an informational and sales table at a revamped version of Bixby Knolls' First Fridays events. These revamped events will pur more emphasis on local businesses - giving us a better chance to spread the Fair Trade message.
Fair Trade Social
A Fair Trade social hour was held in Long Beach with representatives from Fair Trade Long Beach, FAIR Spirits (of Fair Trade vodka fame), and other Southern Calfironia representatives.
Uptown Village Market in Bixby Knolls
We had a table at the Uptown Village Market in Long Beach. We sold about $100 from our HandCrafting Justice donated items and got anther 20 sign-ups.
UCLA Earth Day Fest
Representatives from Fair Trade Long Beach shared a table with Fair Trade LA and the UCLA Fair Trade Campus team ast UCLA's Earth Day fest. Twenty five students joined our mailing list and we acquired a new member, Manuel, who is working on an exciting "SpendRight" chrome extension.
360 Fair Trade Conference and EXPO
The Treasurer of Fair Trade Long Beach attended the, "360 Fair Trade Conference and EXPO!" in Westminster, Colorado from March 27th-29th
Fair Trade Campaigns DC Conference
Members of Fair Trade Long Beach were approved for a Travel Stipend to attend, "The Fair Trade Campaigns DC Conference!". The conference was held from March 23rd - 25th.
Night at the Aquarium
Members of Fair Trade Long Beach worked at the "Night at the Aquarium in Long Beach for District 1". On Tuesday March 3 we had the privilege to meet with Councilwomen Lena Gonzalez. During our brief encounter, I did manage to share our vision and mission for Fair Trade Long Beach! She is very excited and would like to meet soon. I will keep everyone posted!
